Nick Galumbus
Pastor
Nick was blessed to grow up in a Christian home, and was saved at the age of 16. A couple years later, the Lord began to convict him about his need to surrender to preach. He fought this call for months as he had other plans for his life, but he finally surrendered to this call during a Missions Conference. Shortly thereafter he started his formal training in his local church's Bible Institute. After graduation, he spent time traveling throughout southern Africa helping and learning from different missionaries.
From 2021-2023, He served on staff at Bible Baptist Church in Grand Forks, ND serving in their Digital and Media Ministry, Children's Ministry, as well as teaching in the Bible Institute. From March of 2024 until December of 2025, Nick Served in Harvest Baptist Church of Larimore, ND as their Associate Pastor.
In January 2026, Nick was ordained by Long Island Baptist Church to be their next pastor. He echoes the words of Paul, when He thanks the Lord for both putting him into the ministry, as well as enabling him to serve the Lord with his life.
The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
- Psalm 126:3

My wife and I have been Long Islanders all our lives. We have been married for over 35 years, and between us we have five children and six grandchildren.
Over 30 years ago, we were searching for a church that our family would be able to attend, and we found it. The Lord led us to First Baptist Church of Sayville, now known as Long Island Baptist Church. From the very first day, we were so impressed with the welcoming spirit of everyone and the preaching that we knew this church was special. So we continued attending, and we heard so many life-changing messages from the pulpit that we knew we needed salvation.
After we received the Lord’s gift of salvation, our lives began to change as we learned more from the Bible. The relationship we had together became more loving and sweet. (II Corinthians 5:17)
The relationship we have with each of our church members is special and loving. The Lord has used us to serve Him in so many ways. My wife has been a nursery worker, children’s church teacher, and serves during our brunches and fellowship lunches. The Lord has used me to serve Him as an usher, welcoming all who come through our doors in the same way I was welcomed over 30 years ago. (John 13:34–35)
I don’t know where we would be today if it weren’t for the relationship we have with the Lord and with the church. Praise the Lord for leading us so many years ago to this church!
